Join Aasi Siddique's Campaign for 13th District Commissioner
Updated: Sep 27
In a time when community leadership is more crucial than ever, Aasi Siddique is stepping up to the plate to run for the position of 13th District Commissioner. With a vision for a more inclusive, transparent, and effective local government, Aasi is not just a candidate; he is a beacon of hope for many residents who feel unheard and overlooked. This blog post will explore Aasi's campaign, his vision for the district, and how you can get involved in this important movement.

Aasi Siddique is running for Cook County Commissioner because District 13 residents deserve leadership that is accessible, accountable, and focused on measurable results.
The district is home to more than 320,000 people and encompasses some of Cook County’s most diverse communities. It includes Evanston, Skokie, Lincolnwood, Golf, portions of Morton Grove, Niles, and Glenview, as well as the Chicago neighborhoods of Rogers Park and West Ridge. More than 100 languages are spoken across the district. It is also home to major colleges and universities, hospitals, community health centers, business districts, forest preserves, waterways, and the Lake Michigan shoreline.
These communities face growing challenges. Severe storms have overwhelmed drainage systems, flooded businesses and homes, disrupted transportation, and exposed gaps in regional emergency preparedness. Property taxes continue to place pressure on homeowners, renters, seniors, and small businesses. Residents are also demanding safer, more reliable transportation; responsible development; stronger constituent services; and greater transparency in county government.
The July 27, 2026 storm demonstrated the urgency of these concerns. Cook County issued a disaster proclamation after torrential rainfall caused flash flooding, structural damage, utility outages, downed trees, and transportation disruptions across numerous municipalities. An official rainfall total of 9.35 inches was recorded at O’Hare, while some parts of Chicago’s North Side and the northern suburbs reportedly received approximately 12 inches. Skokie experienced significant commercial flooding.
Aasi believes District 13 needs a commissioner who will do more than identify problems. It needs someone who will establish priorities, coordinate agencies, scrutinize spending, communicate directly with residents, and demand results.
With decades of experience in risk management, finance, insurance, real estate, transportation, logistics, regulatory compliance, organizational management, and military service, Aasi brings the operational background needed to help Cook County prepare for emerging challenges and deliver better value to taxpayers.
This campaign is about practical leadership, fiscal responsibility, stronger communities, and a county government that answers to the people it serves.
